Buena Park's Historic District has six major exhibits: The Whitaker Jaynes House Museum, the Bacon House, The Tice House, First Congregational Church, The Dreger Clock, and the Stage Stop Hotel. Located on Beach Blvd in the heart of Buena Park, and operated by the Buena Park Historical Society.
The two-story Whitaker-Jaynes house was built by Andrew Whitaker, the brother of James Whitaker, who founded Buena Park. Less is known about the Bacon House, which was built as a squatter's shack sometime in the 1850s. James Bacon, born in the house, became well known for his development of the Bacon Avocado.
Travel back in time by touring the Buena Park Historic District featuring several preserved buildings from the 1800’s. The Whitaker-Jaynes House serves as Buena Park's local history museum; the Bacon House is one the oldest surviving structures in Orange County as well as the Stage Stop Hotel.
